Book Fair Week 9/9-9/13

Reading for pleasure unlocks the power of information and imagination and helps children discover who they are.

Our Scholastic Book Fair is a reading event that brings the books kids want to read right into our school. Please make plans to visit our Book Fair and be involved in shaping your child’s reading habits.

Book Fair dates and location: September 9-13 in the WBA library

Shopping hours: The book fair will be open during school hours Monday through Friday (closing at 1:00 p.m. on Friday). Shopping opportunities are also available during Literacy Night on Tuesday, September 10 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. and during Dads and Donuts on Thursday, September 12 and Friday, September 13 from 7:00 to 8:00 a.m.

Two NEW shopping options! If you’d like to avoid sending cash with your child, consider using the Book Fair eWallet. This is a safe and convenient digital payment option for your student to shop the Fair cash-free. And if you’re not able to attend the Fair, try our new online shopping. We’ve partnered with the Scholastic Store to offer over 6,000 products that ship direct to home (with free shipping on book-only orders of $25 or more)! Visit our homepage to set up an eWallet for your child or place an online order. Just go to the website below and search Willie Brown.

Don’t forget, we are required to charge sales tax on book fair purchases, so please factor this in when sending money to school with your child. And when you visit the fair, remember to check out your teacher’s wish list and consider adding a book to your child’s classroom.

We hope to see you and your family at our Book Fair! Remember, all purchases benefit our school.

Volunteer/Chaperone Requirements

If you foresee that you will do any volunteering on campus or attend a field trip as a chaperone, you must complete a background check. This is a requirement in MISD. A background check must be completed EVERY YEAR. A completed check will apply to all MISD schools. If you have not completed a background check for this school year (beginning July 1), you will not be able to volunteer or attend a field trip. https://www.mansfieldisd.org/parents-students/campus-volunteers
