Certification of Health - Daily "Homework" for Families
Please read carefully as this is a task that MUST be done daily.
We want you to be comfortable sending your student into school. All staff members have been certifying their health on a daily basis. They will continue to do so, reporting any symptoms that could potentially be indicative of the Coronavirus, as well as any potential exposure to others exhibiting symptoms. Just as our staff is being asked to do this, we are in turn asking that all families certify the health of their student (s) prior to sending them to school. Staff will also be taking each student's temperature as they arrive to school. A temperature of 100.4 or greater will prohibit a student from attending school. After a fever is assessed, a student must be fever free for 24 hours without the aid of fever reducing medication before returning to school.
- Each student should have a lanyard with a certification card inside. These were passed out at our first material pick up. If you do not have one, please contact your child's teacher.
- The card in the pouch of the lanyard has a series of questions on the back.
- Read and consider the questions carefully each day. The system is only as good as the information being signed off on by each family.
- Sign the front of the card every day and send it to school on your child.
If a student arrives without a lanyard certifying their health, families will be called to certify their child's health before they will be permitted into the classroom.
Arrival to School
Many of our students come to school on the bus. If your child arrives by bus, an adult will meet the bus. Certification lanyards will be checked and temperatures taken. Only after these two steps are completed will children be able to enter the building. Adults will escort students from the bus directly into the classroom.
If you have opted out of D15 provided bus transportation and will be dropping your child off at school, pull into the parking lot and veer immediately to the right. Follow the lot around until you arrive at Door #1 - at the flagpole. An adult will be outside to greet you and your student. Additional adults will be available to verify certification cards and check temperatures. For safety reasons, all students should exit cars from the backseat of the passenger side. Please adjust all car seats/booster seats prior to arrival. Students will then be escorted to their classrooms. No parents will be permitted to enter the school building.
Dismissal Procedure
If you are picking your student up, please pull into the parking lot and veer immediately to the right. Follow the lot around to Door #1 - at the flagpole. Remain in your car and pull forward as directed by staff. An adult will bring your student to your vehicle. For safety reasons, all students should enter cars into the backseat of the passenger side. Please adjust all car seats/booster seats prior to arrival.
