Dear Timberview Families,
I hope you all had a safe and happy Halloween and 4 day break! My daughter Norah dressed up as a butterfly and did a candy hunt around our house. A bit of a different Halloween but still one that we will remember forever. I hope that you were able to secure similar memories with your families last weekend.
I have some very exciting news for everyone! In order to better support our students both remotely and in person, we will be providing Chromebook computers to all of our students to use both at home and at school. We will be handing those out to our in person students on Wednesday and Thursday of next week. Our remote students will have an opportunity to pick up their new Chromebook on Friday.
While this is very exciting, I'm sure you also have quite a few questions. On Monday or Tuesday of next week, I'll be sending out our Acceptable Use Policy for KISD devices as well as specific rules for student use of the Chromebooks. When students receive their Chromebook, they will be taught the rules of use as well as how to use it effectively. We know that this is a pretty big endeavor, so we will be sure to walk through it all slowly with our students.
If your student currently has a Chromebook, please return that to campus. I know that a few of our in-person students have still not turned in their Chromebooks from when they were remote. Please send that with your student to campus so that we can get them a new one! For our remote students who currently have a Chromebook, please bring it with you when you come to pick up your new one.
Due to COVID-19, we have all had to become much more technologically adept, and I'm looking forward to being able to intentionally support our students as they adapt to an ever changing world.
Be sure to look for more information early next week!
