TGMS Update

March 30, 2020

A message from Mrs. Jackson

Welcome back from spring break! We hope that you had.a restful, relaxing, and healthy spring break! As we enter into our second week of online learning, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to our TGMS staff and students. This has been a huge transition for our TGMS community, and I am proud of how we have taken on this new challenge. Here are a few reminders/updates as we continue our online learning journey together:

  • On Monday, teachers will be posting assignments for students to complete for the week in Google Classroom.
  • Assignments: Please have your child complete the assignments in Google Classroom. Teachers will be reaching out to you this week, if you child is behind in a class.
  • Teachers will be available via email to answer any questions between the hours of 7:40a.m.-3:40p.m.
  • If you need to reach Mrs. Saska, please email her at kelli_saksa@plsd.us
  • If you need to reach an administrator, please email us at kara_jackson@plsd.us or chris_stiel@plsd.us

Social Emotional Health:

During these unprecedented times, we would like to make sure that your child's social emotional needs are being met. As a result, we are asking each student to "check in" each day with their team of teachers on the link that is provided for them in Google Classroom. In addition, we are including some resources to help assist your child during this time. The resources can be found below:

Free Meals for the Week of March 30

Pickerington Schools’ “grab and go” meal program will resume on Monday, March 30 — school breakfast and lunches will be distributed for the week on MONDAY ONLY.

Anyone 18 years old and younger may come pick up the free meals (all in one bag) from noon to 1 p.m. at Tussing Elementary School.

A huge shout out to our Pickerington Schools Food Services and Transportation Departments for taking care of our students during this difficult time!

Face to Face Tech Support?

Pickerington Schools will continue to support student’s Chromebooks and the Every-1 Connected Program throughout the closure of our schools.

The PLSD District Office (90 N East Street, Pickerington, Ohio 43147) will be open for limited times throughout the week for face-to-face technical support. We will also have printed copies of the Elementary Schools Blizzard Bags will be available at this time. The open times for the week are as follows:
    • Tuesday, March 31st - 8 AM - 10 AM

    • Thursday, April 2nd - 2 PM - 4 PM

Chromebooks - We will only be replacing completely non-functional Chromebooks at this time. That means we will only swap out Chromebooks for loaners if the original Chromebook will completely not work. We are working towards a better repair system for the future if the closure lasts longer than these three weeks.

    Locked Out of Device

If your student has issues logging into their device, please have them email their teacher, admin, or counselor and they can put in a help desk ticket for a password change. If students do not change their password when prompted to do so by the device, their password will eventually stop working and they will be locked out. Obviously, they will need to use another device to email or have someone email for them.

    Need to Print?

Need to print something out? Staples in Reynoldsburg as well as the UPS Store in Pickerington are offering students access to Google Classroom to print off assignments for free.
