Message from the Principal
Dear Otay Ranch Mustangs:
With immense excitement and genuine pride, I introduce myself to you today as the fourth principal in the history of Otay Ranch High School. This transition, while marking the end of a rewarding three-and-a-half years as the principal of Chula Vista High School, also opens a door to an opportunity deeply personal and profoundly fulfilling.
Otay Ranch isn't just a school to me; it's my community. I've had the privilege of raising my family here, and for many years, I served as a volunteer board member and coach at Park View Little League, where countless Mustangs first learned the joys of teamwork and competition.
My journey as an educator with the Sweetwater Union High School District began in 2002, and over the years, I've worn many hats: teacher, head football coach, athletic director, assistant principal, middle school principal, and now, high school principal. Each role has brought its unique challenges and rewards, but one constant has remained – an unwavering commitment to the educational and personal growth of every student entrusted to our care.
Now, as I stand at the helm of Otay Ranch High School, I feel an immense responsibility, not just to uphold the exemplary standards set by my predecessors, but to build upon them, adding new chapters to the legacy of greatness established since this school's foundation.
I envision Otay Ranch not only as a place of academic excellence, but as a vibrant hub of creativity and innovation, where every student discovers their unique talents and passions. I see a school where athletics and the arts flourish, where diversity is celebrated, and where character development is paramount. I dream of a Mustang community united by a spirit of collaboration and support, where every individual feels empowered to reach their full potential.
This journey, I know, won't be without challenges. But with the unwavering support of the incredible staff, students, and parents of Otay Ranch, and our commitment to the core values of Belonging, Learning, Unity and Empathy, I'm confident that we can achieve remarkable things together.
So, Mustangs, let's join forces and embark on this exciting new chapter. I stand ready to serve you, to listen to your voices, and to work tirelessly to make Otay Ranch High School a beacon of excellence, not just in our community, but throughout the entire region.
With Mustang pride,
Julio Alcalá

Student Parking Registration
Mustangs,
To increase our efforts in ensuring the safety of our campus, we began issuing student parking permits at the ASB Finance windows (the ones that face the main office).
In order to get a parking permit, you will need to fill out the following registration form: Parking Permit Registration
(You must sign in with your Student Google Account)
After the form is completely filled out, you may come to the Finance windows and show your Valid Driver License. You will then be issued a parking permit that must be hung on your rear view mirror anytime you park on campus.
After a two week grace period, any car parked in student parking lots without a student parking permit will be subject to be being towed at the owner’s expense.
If you have any questions please let me know.
Thank you,
