Care Solace
Care Solace is an online resource with a live line that assists individuals in finding local mental health-related programs and counseling services. NJUHSD’s partnership with Care Solace provides access to services for our students, staff, and families at no cost. All of the information that is entered on their platform is completely confidential and stored securely. Click HERE for more information.
District Scholarship Update
Seniors - Did you remember to check your school email on 4/15/22 to see if you've been awarded any district scholarships? The next steps will be sent out in an email after spring break but get ready to write some thank you notes!
Juniors - Mrs. Melugin (District Scholarship Coordinator) will be meeting with classes in May to introduce the NJUHSD scholarship program
Exploring Careers in Health - June 14-17, 2022
This institute is open to students enrolling in grades 9-12 for the 2022-23 school year.
The 14th Annual “Exploring Careers in Health-Summer Institute" sponsored by NCSOS, Dignity Health, and Sierra College is now accepting applications. 25 applicants will be chosen for this free opportunity.
This program requires a referral by a school counselor or teaching staff in Nevada County Schools only. Immunization compliance is mandatory including proof of COVID vaccination and masking in the hospital. Click here for more information

Decoding the Mental Health Messages of Children and Adolescence
Childhood and adolescence represent expected periods of tremendous growth and change. Beyond their typical developmental milestones, today’s K-12 students have endured a series of unexpected stressors during the COVID-19 pandemic that has contributed to confusing, overwhelming, and intensified emotions and experiences of grief and loss. As students, families, educators, and school communities work to renegotiate “normal,” we must also continue to unpack the meaning and impact of this time on the intrapersonal and interpersonal health of children and adolescents.
