North Carolina scientist figures out how to use nuclear fusion to make energy
On December 11th, 2015, in Raleigh, North Carolina, Dr. Fred Stern combined 2 atomic nuclei in a process called nuclear fusion. This process results in mass amounts of energy. I asked Dr. stern what he thought about this new discovery and he told me that "I'm extremely excited, I've been working on this for the last 15 years and finally me and my team have done it." Next I asked him what inspired him to do this research and he told me that "Since I was a kid I've been fascinated with the sun and then I learned how it made energy and I wanted to do that on Earth." That he did and he is the scientist of the century. We hope to see more work from Dr. Stern in years to come.
