Woodland Elementary School
End of Year Updates
A Note from Mr. Wollberg
I have thought long and hard about what I can say to show my appreciation for our students, staff, and families for all their help and hard work throughout this entire year. After careful thought and consideration I have come to the conclusion there are no words that can fully encompass all of the emotions that were on full display this year but I will certainly try below.
To our families, thank you for your support and grace. I know there were many days and weeks where things changed whether it was due to updated guidance from various agencies or a change in direction, you stuck with us and trusted us to teach your children. Not only did they learn math, science, language arts, etc. but they learned how to overcome obstacles, and frankly I think I can say each and every one of them can teach me a thing or two about technology : )
To our staff, thank you for your support of our students. You not only met the challenge of teaching remotely and in a hybrid model, but you did so always keeping our students as our number one priority. You not only engaged students in each one of your lessons but you did so with a smile on your face and created a virtual classroom community. I am humbled to work alongside the amazing staff we have here at Elementary East and West.
And lastly, to our students. I am so proud of each and every one of you. Whether you were in the building or at home, you did an amazing job learning this entire year. Not only did you learn, but you taught me so much about what is capable when you have a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. You showed grit and perseverance in such a strange year and I am so thankful for all of you for all your hard work. Keep up the great work and to our students who are moving to Intermediate next year, on behalf of all of our staff, we wish you well!
Please continue to tune in to Board of Education meetings and check your emails for updates from the district. Below is also important information regarding Chromebook drop-offs for 1st and 2nd-grade students only. 3rd-grade students will keep their Chromebooks all summer, so take good care of them.
This isn't goodbye but see you later and I look forward to continuing to serve our Woodland Community as Principal of Elementary as we move into next year!
Sincerely,
Ryan Wollberg
Principal

COVID-19 Dashboard
With more students coming into the building we are hearing more and more questions about the relocation of classrooms and actual cases of Covid. Woodland created a COVID-19 Dashboard to help stakeholders understand the impact of this virus-specific to Woodland. Please check the dashboard daily to see case counts for students and staff. This is a live document and the data will be updated throughout the day as new cases are confirmed.
The COVID-19 dashboard provides a big picture view of COVID19 cases in our Woodland learning community. More specific information will be shared by us at Elementary or classroom level if your child was potentially impacted by a confirmed or suspected case of COVID-19.
