We gathered individuals in 3 dynamic sessions on building creativity, human-centered design, fabrication and inclusive leadership

These workshops were part of the DSIL POP-UP Series offered by DSIL Global in Bangkok and around the world.

Each workshop was intentionally interactive and led by expert field practitioners. Participants walked away with an expanded Bangkok-based network and sharpened tools to immediately apply to their personal life, organization in which they work and business for greater impact.

  • April 23 (Saturday) 1-5pm - Workshop 2 - Innovation Tools for Social Impact




Workshop 1 - Co-Created Design + Rapid Prototyping with 3D Printing and Lasers

This workshop will be a guided process of the entire design thinking methodology using a combination of tools from the DSIL Core Curriculum,, and the International Development Innovation Network.

Participants will learn tools and techniques for quickly building trust and camaraderie in diverse teams as well as for rapid prototyping of actual solutions to problems in experienced by people in their daily lives. Skill-building workshops will be designed into the program so that participants gain exposure to software and hardware common in digital fabrication. An introduction to non-digital fabrication and design will also be included. Each participant is required to have their own laptop. Get ready, Hermes Huang, the workshop lead will get you moving and building with your hands.

Workshop 2 - Cutting Edge Social Innovation Tools for Impact and Organizational Design

This workshop will explore innovation leadership by diving deep into tactical methods from the THNK School of Creative Leadership and the fields of Human-Centered Design Tools and Organizational Design Frameworks from various schools of thought such as MIT, IDIN, THNK and the Anyone ready to innovate their creative process, organization or business model will experience transformational reframes and be able to apply the workshop experience to personal and professional projects- at the personal, team and organizational level.

Bring your real-world team challenge or learn from other participants as we walk through various tools that can be leveraged and applied to your daily work as well as the design of a team and startup/scaling organization. Join Courtney Lawrence of DSIL, Dr. Paul Hangvongse and Viria Vichit-Vadakan from G-Lab, School of Global Studies, Thammasat University.

Workshop 3 - Driving Creativity in Your Team

This workshop will teach hands on and engaging activities to ensure teams working in any sector have the tools to amplify creativity and open communication for the sake of quality project and/or product development.

“Liberating Structures” are creative tools that this workshops foundation is built on. These suite of techniques will provide new thinking and interaction with both experienced and newly formed teams since its pedagogy is based on a belief that it through diverse and large communities that we unlock the potential for a world not yet created. Get ready to get moving, our facilitator Katy Grennier believes we learn by doing, and so you will engage with every activity taught.
