Announcements!
As the weather begins to get chilly please remember to send students with a jacket to wear to recess! We will continue to go outside each morning and afternoon!
Students will be bringing home questions on Friday, December 8th to ask a family member! Please answer the questions with your student and send the sheet back on Monday December 11th! We will be discussing these as a class!
Winter Break December 20th- January 3rd. Students return January 4th!
7days until winter break:
- December 11- I'm dreaming of a snow day: wear white, blue, and snowflakes
- December 12- Grinchmas: dress as a holiday character
- December 13-Santas little helpers: wear red, green, or elf things
- December 14-Grandma got run over by a reindeer: dress like your grandparent during the holidays
- December 15- White elephant: Tacky sweater day
- December 18- Stockings hung by the chimney: wear holiday socks
- December 19- Night before winter break: PJ day
Winter Celebration!
On Tuesday, December 19th, students will be celebrating their first semester learning by enjoying a movie and hot cocoa day. Students will be watching The Polar Express! Hot Cocoa will be chocolate milk in a crock pot. If you are not comfortable with your student watching the movie or having hot cocoa please reach out and let us know!
Winter Challenges!
Over break students will be bringing home a reading challenge sheet and an IXL challenge sheet! This is to encourage students to continue to read and practice their IXL skill plan skills over break! If students return these sheets they will receive a prize. These sheets will be sent home on Tuesday, December 19th!
Prizes:
1 completed sheet = 10 shillings
2 completed sheets = 20 shillings

- Re-read Little Red Riding Hood and Hu Gu Po
- Read Tselane
- Compare and Contrast two stories
- Draft a writing piece with beginning, middle and end.
- Write to the prompt, "If I had a Fairy Godmother for a day.."
At Home:
Write about three things you did over break!
Math
This week we:
- Sort and identify polygons
- Group shapes based on attributes
- Identify quadrilaterals
- Identify faces, edges and vertices on 3-D shapes
