Blue and Gold Week

The Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts will hold Blue and Gold Week April 22 through 27, with a variety of presentations and performances in multiple campus venues. In addition to students presenting research that qualifies for one of the school’s highest academic honors, Gradation with Distinction, student performances in music, theatre, and dance will be held.

In order to meet the requirements for attendance, students must attend a total of four Blue and Gold Week events--2 of which must be distinction presentations. Students will receive a separate email with detailed registration instructions.

Summer School Information

LSMSA Summer School Registration

Summer school offerings give rising juniors and seniors the opportunity to get ahead in the curriculum or improve grades in courses taken. (Please see the Louisiana School Forgiveness Policy in the Academic Performance section of the Student Handbook.) These courses also offer all students an opportunity to take courses that they may otherwise be required to take in the fall or spring semester, thereby freeing up their schedules for other courses.

For more information on courses offered and to reserve a space in any of the offered classes, visit the Summer School Information and Application page. Please complete only one application per student.

LSMSA Summer School Fee Information

The room and board fee for summer school is $400, unless you qualify for a fee waiver. Fee waivers are available for qualifying families for Summer School and are available online at Completed forms are due by May 20th.

Final payment of all fees is due by May 20th. All fees are non-refundable once the classes begin.

Other Summer School Options

Students who wish to take a course this summer at a local college or university must complete our Summer School Approval Form. This form is available in the Registrar's Office and should be completed before you pay any fees for a course. Students who enroll in courses not approved by LSMSA will not receive LSMSA credit.

Counseling Corner

College Planning Guest Speaker Series

The March 28 guest speaker presentation emphasized the importance of college visits. "By doing an official visit, you also let the colleges know you are serious about the possibility of attending -- this is key for competitive colleges, which now value demonstrated interest as a major component of the admissions process." LSMSA Counselors always remind our college bound families, " you wouldn't buy a car you had not test-driven or a house you had never seen." Plan to visit soon and incorporate college visits into your summer vacation plans. Learn more here.
