Martin Luther King Jr.
Martin Luther King Jr. emerged in the civil rights movements in 1955 when he as apart in putting together the Montgomery bus boycott. He continues to emerge in the movement until he was the most known voice in the civil rights movement. He continued to fight with non-violence until 1968 when he was assassinated in Memphis Tenessee.
Malcolm X
Malcolm X was another big name activist and was most known for his saying "black power". He was a head spokes person for the Nation of Islam until joining the civil rights movement. When he joined he went about with a more violent approach and did so until 1965 when he was killed by members of the Nation of Islam.
Medgar Evers
Medgar Evers did t fight out in the streets like Martin Luther King Jr. and Macolm X but he did it in the court rooms. He was the first person appointed field secretary for Mississippi and was also the president of the RCNL. This made him a major target to the white supremacist. He fought until 1963 when he was assassinated in his front yard.
