ESY Week 1

Welcome!
ESY is a very short and packed session. It will provide you with the opportunity to earn credit(s) you may be missing. In order to be successful, you are going to need a couple of things: gmail account, activelylearn account, vocabtest.com account, and alison.com account. The majority of your work will be completed online - we will both be tracking your individual progress to ensure you successfully complete the course requirements.
Do Now:
* Grammar Pre-test
1. If you do not have a gmail account - create one now.
2. Create a new activelylearn.com account - even if you had one previously - you will need a new one. Use the class code 579fe
3. Create vocabtest.com account
Daily Agenda:
1. After you have created your accounts - Use the Background notes to complete the cornell notes sheet.
2. activelylearn.com - Complete the assigned articles. These articles cover a variety of standards from each grade level and current event topics in the news. This will be a daily activity.

-9th grade - Unit 1 - define the terms and complete the chart

In a five paragraph or more essay you will need to give a detailed analysis of the movie Avatar and how it can be considered a presentation of the hero’s journey. You need to use specific examples and explain each step of the journey in correlation with your notes. Please use the guidelines below to help
