Kent Julian
The theme for this Super Saturday was analyzing the value and impact of your choices. Kent Julian explained this perfectly by addressing the idea that "direction determines destiny". He also used the equation E+R=O to explain the idea that an event plus our reaction equals outcome. We may not be able to control events that happen but by choosing how we respond to those events, we can impact the outcome.

Thank you Grove City HS!
A HUGE thank you to Grove City High School for hosting this year's Super Saturday. Their student council worked incredibly hard to put together this event from start to finish. When asked about the day, Alaina Murphy, a Grove City student council member said "my absolute favorite part was seeing all of these people get together for one day to better themselves not only as leaders, but as people as well." It's thanks to council members like Alaina that OASC events are so impactful and memorable!
Do you have a great advisor or administrator?
Students can nominate their advisor for OASC's Advisor of the Year Award that is presented at State Conference in April. Advisors also have the opportunity to nominate an Administrator of the Year if you have tremendous support from an administrator in your school or district! Applications must be submitted by January 1st to be considered for this award at the 2017 State Conference!

Icebreaker Ideas!
Need easy ways to get to know your council? Try these out and let us know how it goes! Send pictures to oascoutreach@oasc-oh.org of your council participating in an icebreaker and you could be featured in our next newsletter!
Coke or Pepsi?
- Have students stand in the middle of the room on either side of a strip of tape on the floor.
- Ask a question to the group. (ex. Would you rather live in the country or in the city?)
- Students will go to the side of the tape that is designated by the leader.
- Give each group the chance to explain their choice.
Snowball Fight
- Each student is given a piece of paper and told to write five facts about themselves.
- After they are all finished, tell them to wad the piece of paper up and begin a snowball fight.
- When you think they've thrown enough, tell them to pick up the "snowball" closest to them, read the facts, and try to figure out whose snowball they have by going around to each other and asking yes or no questions only.
- Have students continue to do so until everyone has succeeded.
Five Finger Icebreaker
In this icebreaker, you get in small groups and answer 5 questions (based on your hand)

2. Pointer is something you'd like to point out
