Inauguration Ideas
- NEA has curated grade-banded lessons and resources which connect to the curriculum K-12. It includes inaugural speeches from the last 90 years.
- Discovery Education has put together a program that will include live broadcasts with a variety of special guests. There are also open-source infographics, videos, and images which could be used to stimulate classroom discussion.
- Britannica has grade-banded encyclopedia articles that share the history of Inauguration Day for primary-high school students (and teachers too).
- "What makes a good inaugural address?" from C-SPAN. Students can analyze and interpret past speeches and the impact they had. This activity is geared toward grades 6-12.

Up and Coming! (Part 2)
Sign up now for Engaging Online Asynchronous Lessons with Emma Pass !
(January 27, 12:30 - 2:00 p.m. -- Hosted by CIS/SLS)
Asynchronous learning is when a teacher develops a pre-built lesson, or pre-recorded video, and provides it for a student to work through at their own pace during the course of a day or week. In this session we will use Google Slides and Google Docs templates in order to create a pre-packaged lesson that students will be able to navigate independently.
Emma Pass is a secondary English teacher, Google Certified Trainer/Innovator, and all-things-edtech enthusiast. Emma is passionate about using technology to reach 100% student engagement, differentiate instruction, save time, increase efficiency, and much more. Emma’s book on hybrid learning, The Hybrid Teacher Survival Guide, can be downloaded at: https://www.edtechemma.com/the-hybrid-teacher-book
