ALL FOR BOOKS- T-Rex vs. Velociraptor:
Our goal is to ensure that each and every student at HSES has the opportunity to choose at least one book that inspires them to read. We are seeking donations through the Scholastic All for Books program to help achieve that goal. This year, for every donation of $1 of more to the All for Books program, your child will receive a footprint to write their name on. Students will drop their coins and bills into a T-Rex or Velociraptor can to vote in the HSES T-Rex vs. Velociraptor contest. Who will win?!?
Volunteers Needed!
Our Book Fair cannot be a success without volunteers! Please visit our Sign Up Genius to see how you can help. Sign up for Volunteers:

Resilience Film
Calling all Parents:
Bring flexible seating of your choice to ensure your comfort (beach chair, blanket, pillow, etc.) and join track 2 teachers, Mrs. Clark, and one of our own parents, Sam Trodgon for a special viewing of the 60 minute documentary film, Resilience on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 from 1:00-2:30 at the school. This time will also include a question/answer session.
Mr. Trodgon is on the Board of Directors for Advocates for Health in Action (AHA) which has been responsible for showing the film Resilience at Marbles Children's Museum. We will also share what Wake County is doing to promote Resilience and address Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). Find out about the work that HSES is doing in the area of social emotional learning for our students outlined in the School Improvement Plan.
Please note, this event is for parents ONLY. See the flyer for more information. We hope you can make it and be a part of this event! Please RSVP to help us plan by clicking on the link: bit.ly/hsesresil
