The Jefferson Memorial
This is the Jefferson Memorial (a place that we will visit). Here is a brief history: Construction began on November 15, 1939. It was created by Rudolf Evans. The building was completed on April 13, 1943.
Bureau of Engraving and Printing
This is the building that we will also visit called, Bureau of Engraving and Printing. Brief history: It was established in 1862. In that year 6 people separated and sealed notes by hand in the basement of the Treasury building. Then the Bureau moved to where it is now just off the National Mall in 1914.
The Washington Memorial
The Washington Memorial is another site we will see in Washington DC. Brief history: This building was in construction between the years of 1848 and 1884. It was a tribute to George Washington's military leadership in the years 1775 and 1783.
Vietnam Memorial
The Vietnam is also a place we will be seeing on the trip. Brief history: This V-designed wall was established by the VVMF (Vietnam Veteran Memorial Fund Inc.). It was incorporated on April 27, 1979.
National Cathedral
This is another place we will be visiting when we're in Washington DC. Brief history: The idea of the National Cathedral was made when George Washington was still alive. The building of history for the National Cathedral was continuing from 1907 up until today and will keep making history in the future.
