In Case You Missed It:

Congratulations to our SLMS Custodian Team! SanLee has been named Clean School of the Month. Monica Hawes, Freddie Atkins, Alice McIver, Nick Szakaly, and Nathan Faulk will be honored at the LCS Board Meeting on Tuesday, December 8th for their commitment to ensuring we have a clean school in which to learn. The meeting starts at 6pm at Lee County High School.

Our first Lee/Moore County Basketball Jamboree was a great success on Saturday. Thank you to our Athletic Director, Kris Jaggers, for his collaboration with all the other schools, as well as planning and communication with us to ensure we had volunteers to cover and assist where needed for this community event. I appreciate our staff Josh Schneider, Ja"Maul Johnson, and DJ Clemmons, Christina Reed, Bonnie Marshall, Miranda Colwell, Shannon Willaert, Kris Jaggers, Ellen Duncan, and Drea Wright-Thompson, and Debbie Bryan for giving of your time on a Saturday morning and supporting our kids! We had so many parents which also volunteered to help us with selling tickets, t-shirts, and concessions. We are very lucky to have such strong support from our families! Our first basketball game is away December 10 at West Pine Middle School.

The first Robotics competition of this school year took place at CCCC. Michael Goins worked hard with our Stallion team over the past few months. They placed 10th out of 24 teams and 1st over all the Lee County teams. Assistant Coach, Will Trombley was very helpful this week to prepare our team while Michael was out sick with the flu. It takes a village!

Patrice McNeill and Bonnie Marshall participate each summer in a professional development opportunity through the NC Art Museum. This PD allows them to take their classes to the museum during the school year for free. Their three classes went at the end of November and had a wonderful experience. The guides were extremely complimentary of our students' behavior, knowledge, and interest in the exhibits. Thank you to these ladies for planning enriching activities for our kids!

Math and Science Teachers: Rob Dietrich, Technology Director said student accounts should be completed in McGraw/Hill online textbooks this week.

I placed more materials in math teacher's boxes on Thursday. We are still missing 6th grade teacher manuals, but everything can and should be found online. All teacher accounts should have been claimed at this time. Please let me know if you are having any issues. Training comes this week :)

A HUGE thank you goes to everyone which has committed to helping with after school tutorials. Math and reading iReady materials have been purchased by the district for us to use for after school. This has print and online components. I was told that print materials and information about student accounts should be here this week. We are also expecting our bus routes and Gaye will be completing contracts, so we will be ready for our start date of December 15.
