About Yellowstone National Park
Yellowstone national park is located in the north west. Yellowstone is located in Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho. IN the summer Yellowstone’s temperatures can be 70 -85 degrees fahrenheit. Many types of trees grow in Yellowstone. The Lodgepole pines are the most common tree to find in Yellowstone. Geysers are very common in Yellowstone. There are about 500 geysers in Yellowstone. Obsidian cliff is a landform that was created from a lava flow (*See picture at bottom of the flyer)
Formation of Old Faithful
Old Faithful was formed about one hundred years ago because there are cracks in the crust that snow and rain can get into. When the water goes deeper in the crust the water will get hotter. And when water gets hot it gets bigger in size. this will create pressure that makes the water go up through the cracks in the crust.
