Suwanee Express
DLD...Etc :)
First, I can't thank you enough for all you are doing to give our students engaging learning opportunities this week. You will be a consistency that our kiddos need during this uncertain and unfamiliar time for them. Be the assurance, smile, and bright light they need. Remember you are an educator....you were born to make a difference! :) Please know we are here for support. Here's a couple of reminders and what we know as of today. I will keep you updated as information is coming in from our district:
- Gwinnett County Public Schools will be making an announcement on Thursday, March 19th about March 23rd-27th and possible further school closures
- All school events are cancelled the week of 3/16-3/22 examples include Chick-Fila Spirit Night, IEP meetings, school-based meetings, district meetings, Picture Day, All Pro Dads Breakfast, Suwanee's PTA Family Picnic, etc
- There is no decision yet from GCPS about GMAS or District Assessments
- The building will be open daily 8:30-3:30 if you need to stop by to retrieve materials or would like to work from Suwanee ES.
- All IEP and special education meetings are cancelled and will be rescheduled once we return and have guidance from the Department of Education.
- Our amazing custodial staff is working extra hard to deep clean our school.
- I communicated with those employees required to report, and we have set up a plan to support these amazing employees. Thank you for all you do!
Don't hesitate to reach out if you need anything!

Some important parts of the checklist
Procedure:
1. Click this survey for check-in by 9:00AM- also available on eCLASS
2. LSTC will let grade chair know if someone on their grade level has not checked in. Grade chair will contact that person and report back to LSTC.
3. LSTC will post for a teacher if they do not have power (if LSTC lost power will reach out to Jennifer Duncan)
4. Teacher posts assignments by 8:30AM
5. Teachers need to post directions in the Activity Feed and have the Activity Feed at top of course
6. Homeroom Teachers email parents information in your Activity Feed. Also, encourage parents to have students log in to eCLASS for credit.
7. Teachers need to put in a ticket to reset or check Student Password issues- it is still student number and student number
8. Parent Notification-
Teacher sends email to parents by 8:45 regarding where to find assignment. Some info for communication:
- Assignments will be posted on eCLASS by 9:00 AM on the Digital Learning Day
- For each day missed, students have two days to turn in the work. It is preferable to finish the work during the Digital Learning Day
- Students may submit work in several ways. They should follow the directions provided by their teacher
- Students will have about three hours of work for the full day's activity grades 3-5, and no more than two hours for K-2, including the Specials rotation for the day.
- Teachers will be available throughout the day. All teachers will check their email/eCLASS pages at 10, 12, and 2
