Quarter 1 Content Recovery Information
Content Recovery will begin on December 1st, 2020.
If you did not pass your first quarter, you are able to participate in content recovery. Content Recovery will give you the opportunity to bring up your grade.
Here’s what you need to do:
· Parent or student must initiate the students desire to complete content recovery for the course. Contact should be made via email or Canvas messages.
· The Content Recovery Cycle will run from December 1 until December 17. All work must be completed and submitted to the teacher by December 17th.
· Teacher will communicate with student the assignment or assessment that will be used in place of missing work (it can be the original assignment, or a variation to maintain test security).
· Students are able to make up or redo any assignment for which they received a 0 or a 1 for during quarter 1. Students are able to make up missing assessments (earn the grade they get). Students are able to retake a failed assessment.
· Student will need to complete the work on their own time, and this is work in addition to what is being assigned for the current quarter.
· Teachers will grade content recovery work and complete a grade change form.
The following grading guidelines will be in place for Content Recovery:
- Assignments for which students received a 0 or 1 will receive Pass/Fail for completion (60). Assessments for which students received a 0 or 1 due to missing the test will be able to make up the missing assessment (or variation) and receive the grade they earn.
- Assessments for which students took and failed and would like to retake will be able to do so, but grading will follow the retake policy. Re-assessment opportunities will be offered in every course to students that score below 70/C on assessments (with exception of Advanced Studies classes). Only one reassessment opportunity is offered per task/assessment. When tasks/assignments are re-assessed, they may be re-assessed partially, entirely, or in a different format, as determined by the teacher. However, all re-assessments will have the same level of difficulty.
