Dear Preschool Families,

I am sending this Newsletter a little late this month because I wanted to share pictures from our Valentine's Day parties that we enjoyed today. We had lots of fun preparing for Valentine's Day in our classes last week. We shared Valentine stories, made Valentine crafts, worked on our Valentine learning activities, did Valentine science experiments, and sang Valentine songs. Thank you so much for the many treats that you shared with our Staff. We have felt lots of LOVE today.

Just a reminder that we will not have preschool on Monday, February 20th because the FMSD will be closed in recognition of President's Day.

Our next Color Day is Thursday, March 16 and it will be GREEN DAY! We are looking forward to searching for the Leprechaun that causes mischief in our Preschool every St. Patrick's Day!

We are so blessed to have Ms. Carolyn at Unity Preschool. Ms. Carolyn has been helping Unity Preschool for the past 12 years! She is our Tuesday/Thursday helper, Librarian, first call sub, and an extra pair of hands. Ms. Carolyn is a Fort Mill native and an avid Clemson fan. She also works in the FLYERS after-school program at Fort Mill Elementary and as our Nursery Caregiver at Unity.

Favorite Foods: Ms. Carolyn enjoys ice cream (especially butter pecan at Baskin Robbins) and hamburgers.

Favorite Music: Ms. Carolyn loves "oldies" music from the 60s, 70s and 80s

Favorite Book: David Copperfield by Charles Dickens

Favorite Activities: Ms. Carolyn loves the mountains, cruising, and gardening

Did you know that Unity Preschool has a Team of volunteers who help us in the classrooms and behind the scenes? Ms. Dannie is one of our special VIPs (Volunteers Impacting Preschool) who has been helping us for the past four years. Ms. Dannie is a weekly classroom helper who assists with Center Time in our Fish class every Wednesday. Ms. Dannie has been a member of Unity for over 50 years. She is a retired school librarian and worked for 40 years in various school districts. She loves the Clemson Tigers, her dog (Roxie) and volunteering at Unity Preschool!

*Preschool Closed:

President's Day Holiday: Monday, February 20

Spring Break: April 3 thru April 7

*Four's Conferences: Conferences for Ms. Elizabeth's class will be March 1 and 2 and conferences for Ms. Maureen's class will be March 7 and 9. You should have received an e-mail with a sign-up genius link last week.

*Warm Jackets and Hats: We go outside if the temperature is above freezing and it is not rainy or too wet. Please send your child in warm jackets, hats and mittens. They need and enjoy fresh air and exercise!

*Registration Update: We had a successful registration in January and we are full in our Older Two's class. We have a very few openings in our Three's and Four's classes. Please let your neighbors and friends know - we love referrals.

*Folder Reminder: Please remember to empty your child's folder at least every week!

*Tuition Withdrawal: Our next tuition withdrawal date will be Wednesday, March 1st.
