Envisions Projects
I will be available for 3rd and 4th grade Envision students during their PE times on Thursday and Friday this week AND their lunch times on Thursday and Friday!
Day Without Hate
Monday:
1st and 5th Grade
Make a banner (KINDNESS) for students to fill in with Sticky Notes filled out as they demonstrate random acts of kindness - displayed in the lobby area - filled throughout the week.
Tuesday:
2nd and K
Showing Sunset Meadows and Sandrock Ridge kindness by supporting Tupa's May Baskets. Each teacher will submit 5 names of students that are demonstrating behavior that supports kindness to be chosen to walk the May Baskets - the first week of May.
This project will be set up in the cafeteria to be worked on during lunch.
Wednesday:
3rd, Arnett, and Specials
During lunchtime Happy Music (arranged by Lizzy L) will be played in the cafeteria! Students have to sit with someone they don't usually sit with!
Duties and Principal will be passing out 'Hugs' and 'Kisses to the students!
Thursday:
4th and Jen
All classes will show Kid President "Even if Hate has a Bullhorn, Love is louder" or another clip of their choice dealing with Kindness. Students that want can make their own Kid President video - to be put into the school-wide video on Friday. A table will be set up for students to video themselves at school OR they can do it from home - communications will be sent home! Introduce this option to your students (grade level appropriate) at the end of this week so they have an idea - I will also send home communications to parents. Please let Hafey know if your grade level will be given this opportunity!
Friday:
Hafey, Beth, Kyla, and Arnett
We will be capturing video of the week's events and put together a Slide Show to present to the student body on Friday at a 1:30 Assembly! Let the kids know we will be watching for acts of kindness! If you have an activity that this may be displayed let me know!
Lastly, in addition to the Kid President Video that students can make and option to produce a Rap of Kindness will also be a possibility! This too can be announced on Friday, before the weekend (communications will be sent home as well!). Please have students let Hafey know if they have a Kindness Rap to include in the video or presented over the Speaker!
