Board Updates
No School!
Friday, Dec 11, 2020, 08:00 AM
FLES & RMS
Ms. Kelly Downs, District Math Specialist, provided an overview of the Math Curricula adoptions, professional development, and feedback received.
Mr. Laird reviewed the updated Band & Orchestra Handbook; the handbook was adopted.
Ms. Howe discussed the budget and two policies related to the budget (Policy 6114 - Cost Principles and Policy 6325 - Procurement); both policies were approved. Paying-off the Forte Bank Loan was also approved.
A variety of updates were made surrounding the pandemic including information from the county, the updated dashboard was shared, and the use of personal days was discussed and a temporary change was approved.
Similar to the decision that was made about our programming following Thanksgiving, the Board will act on what our programming will look like following Winter Break. We know that parents need time to respond to this decision, should it be a move to virtual learning, however we also want to act prudently in a manner that best supports our students and staff. The Board will discuss this on December 7th and if enough information is available, the administration will present a recommendation to the Board.
Covid - 19 Dashboard
Virtual Learning the rest of the week and a return to school next week... what procedures should we continue to follow?
- If anyone in your family gets a covid test, your entire family should quarantine until you have the results. (This helps to reduce the amount of contact tracing should someone test positive. You should notify the school so that if the test ends up positive, the school can react quickly in order to contact trace should it be necessary.)
- Parents, if you or a child, tests positive, please notify the school office as soon as possible. Your early notification allows us to more quickly respond and mitigate through contact tracing.
- Staff members are asked to notify a building or district-level administrator if they, or a family member, have a confirmed, positive test result, or if they learn of a student or family impacted by covid.
- In cases when staff or students were in close contact with the individual who was confirmed positive, an additional letter outlining information and next steps will be sent out to impacted families. In close contact cases, a 14-day quarantine is necessary. (If you do not receive a second letter, it means you/your child were not found to be in close contact with the individual who tested positive.)
COVID Testing Requirements to Return to School:
If your child is at home because they are experiencing symptoms found on the COVID-19 Health Screening Checklist for Children, please WAIT 4-5 days before being tested per guidance from the Washington Ozaukee Public Health Department.
A PCR test is currently the ONLY accepted NEGATIVE test result in determining whether or not your child can return to school earlier than the 10 days + 24 hours quarantine period.
