Working Together
Teamwork
Let's get it done
Message from the Leadership Team.
Creating authentic language and academic opportunities for our students often happens through community involvement and guest speakers. This past week, we had students from Ms. Betten's class assist in the weighing, bagging, sorting, boxing and inspecting of food for the Harry Chapin Food Bank of Southwest Florida. All the readied food and grocery products will be distributed to those in need in and around our community. This field trip not only gave the students an opportunity to apply the language, math and academic skills they had been preparing for, but it also gave them a chance to connect the civics component that we often discuss. They learned and experienced first hand the role each one of us plays within our community.
Please feel free to reach out to your site coordinator, Christine, Bruce or Ariel in planning for a field trip or guest speaker. If you are planning on having a guest speaker present to your class please make sure to complete the district required form and submit to your site coordinator. In filling out the form, consider the purpose of the presentation as it relates to the frameworks and our students.
To access prior approval form, please follow link below and/or it can be located on the shared google drive.
