Brrrrr... Sure Wish I Had My Jacket
But seriously, aren't those lost jackets, water bottles, and lunch kits that just sit in lost and found a great way to teach our children about natural consequences? Sometimes, I feel like I ask, "did you check lost and found?" about 3000 times a day, but in reality, the same items sit there until we spread them out across the stage at the end of the semester. Nobody really notices the pile until the weather outside turns frightful. And it looks like this weekend might be when that hoodie is missed.
Please take an opportunity to talk to your kiddos about how the natural consequence of not taking care of their stuff is that it's cold when they don't have a jacket. And maybe, just maybe, the items in the corner of the commons just might get claimed.

8th Grade Field Trip to See The Pajama Game at CLHS
January 10, 2022
Dear Parents/Guardians:
The eighth-grade class has been invited to attend the Clear Lake High School Fine Arts presentation of their musical, Pajama Game. The performance is Thursday, January 27, 2022 in the auditorium of CLHS. Our students will ride buses, and they should arrive between 9:30 and 9:45. The performance will run from 10:00 through 11:00, and end with a time for questions the students have regarding any of their course selections for high school. We are expecting them to be back on the bus between 11:15 and 11:30. Any student assigned to serve ISS or OSS on January 27 will not be allowed to attend the musical. A permission slip and emergency information form are attached. Please be sure to sign both sides and complete the requested information. There is no charge to attend this play, and it is voluntary. Students that do not go on the trip will attend their regular classes on our campus. The attached page, signed and completed, is due to the front office no later than Monday, January 24, 2022.
Thank you, Jepsey Kimble Principal

Message from Dr. Williams
Dear CCISD Staff and Families,
As you know, locally and nationally, COVID-19 cases and related hospitalizations are on the rise with the latest Omicron variant. We have been monitoring community trends and I have been in close contact with health authorities. The surge in cases is expected to continue for several weeks before decreasing. Based on guidance from health officials and case trend data in Galveston and Harris counties, including hospitalization data, we have made the decision to temporarily move from Stage 4 Monitoring to Stage 3 Mitigation of the CCISD Health Protocol. It is our intent to move back to Stage 4 when we see a downward trend in positive cases and health officials indicate the trend will continue. Health officials with whom we have consulted anticipate that a downward trend could occur by the end of January.
In Stage 3, the following measures will be in place:
- Face coverings are strongly encouraged indoors for students, staff, and visitors.
- COVID-19 cleaning protocols are in place.
- Elementary and intermediate campus staff continue to support the proper, consistent use of face coverings for students whose parents have required their child to wear one.
- Social distancing in classrooms as much as possible.
- Social distancing during elementary breakfast and lunch, as well as designated areas for social distancing for intermediate and high school.
- Pandemic, nightly, and high touch cleaning practices will continue.
- Cleaning supplies, alcohol wipes, face coverings, and hand sanitizer are widely available.
- Volunteer activities may continue if planned in advance.
- Parents are welcome to visit their local school for meetings and volunteer activities. However, visitors for breakfast and lunch will be delayed until conditions improve (originally planned for reinstatement during the week of January 10).
Staff members in our elementary and intermediate schools continue to review mask preferences submitted by parents to monitor consistent, proper usage of face coverings to students whose parents prefer that they wear face coverings. The preference form is available through the online form section of Skyward Family Access.
As a reminder, the school district cannot mandate face coverings. The court challenges surrounding mask orders have not been legally settled. As a school district under Stage 3, we highly encourage staff and students to wear a face covering indoors.
As I shared previously with our employees, it is most important that people stay home if they are ill. Active case data for students and employees are currently being entered in the CCISD COVID-19 Dashboard for public access.
Parents, please keep your children home if they are ill, have had close contact with someone in the home who has tested positive, or if they are awaiting COVID-19 test results. We will send students home if they are sick and exclude them from school in accordance with Texas Education Agency guidelines. If your student has tested positive or is symptomatic with the virus, please self-report the case to CCISD Health Services through the CCISD Covid-19 Self-Reporting app by using your student’s network login and password.
The Centers for Disease Control has revised its guidelines related to isolation following a positive COVID-19 test result. Clear Creek ISD will follow these revised guidelines which state that those who have tested positive for COVID-19 should isolate for five days if they are asymptomatic or if their symptoms are resolving (without fever for 24 hours) and follow the isolation period by wearing a mask for five days when around others. Please take some time to read the latest CDC guidance here.
Please continue to be patient with us as we work together to resume normal school operations. Our team appreciates your continuing support.
Warm Regards,
Eric Williams, Ed.D.

Message from the Clinic
While we are seeing a slow decrease in the number of COVID cases in CCISD, we are not out of harm's way when it comes to getting sick. Please keep your child home if they are not feeling well. We are starting to see the usual fall illnesses pop up at school (strep, rhinovirus, seasonal allergies, RSV, and even flu). This is making dealing with school illness a bit more challenging in the midst of the pandemic. Please be patient as we try to navigate through this together. You can help me by continuing to do the daily Wellness Screener with your child each morning.
Your child needs to be able to pass the Skyward Wellness Screener in order to attend school. If your child does not pass the Screener, you can indicate this by filling out the Wellness Screener on Skyward family access. This will notify me that they failed the screener and excuse their absence for the day. I will reach out to you that day by email or phone.
Please do not send your child to school sick. If your student has any of the following symptoms, they need to stay home. (cough, fever of 100 or higher, shortness of breath, loss of taste or smell, headache, fatigue, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea/ vomiting, diarrhea, chills, muscle aches).
Depending on the symptoms they are having, length of time they have been going on, etc. your child may have to complete one of the below return to school options before they can come back to school.
- be seen by their medical provider and get a note clearing them to return to school, OR
- have negative PCR covid test, OR
- be out 10 days from symptom onset
Allergies are tough this time of year. If your child has documented seasonal allergies and is taking their regular allergy medication and their symptoms are not improving, I encourage you to reach out to their medical provider for further guidance and clearance to return to school.
If you have any questions about Illness/Covid protocols for this school year, you can visit https://ccisd.net/covid19. There are several flow charts to help you decide if you can send your child to school or not. Or, you can always call me at 281-284-4100.
