December Update: 11/29/20
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE:
Dear Boulder Creek Families,
This year, Thanksgiving Recess has brought us right to the end of November. I hope our students and families have had the opportunity to relax and enjoy time away from school while staying healthy.
As you know (review 11/13/20 video update below), our school district will be pivoting to Phase 1, Distance Learning (DL) for the short term beginning November 30th through the end of the first week following Christmas Break, January 8th. This seems like a long time, however, it only equates to 18 school days among the holiday breaks. Although we have done an incredible job preventing widespread outbreaks in our district and especially at Boulder Creek, there have been a number of instances where an Enterprise Elementary School District (EESD) school and/or cohorts have had to go to DL because of quarantines or insufficient staffing. This is becoming much more prevalent as the community spread of COVID continues to increase as well as other seasonal illnesses infect our staff and have caused spur-of-the-moment notifications for our families and DL teacher preparation that will only likely increase after gatherings at Thanksgiving. For these reasons, district leadership has decided that EESD will hit the “pause” button for the weeks in between the holidays in order to allow more time for planning on the part of parents and staff. As far as the 4-day week following Christmas Break goes, the rationale is to remain in DL for the latter part of the COVID incubation period following the holidays.
Our incredible staff will be supporting our students throughout this holiday season. Our teachers will creatively bring engaging wintertime activities and positivity to our students while we all learn from a distance. We will support our students and families in any way possible. Don't hesitate to call us. We look forward to seeing you all again in person on January 11th!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

District Update - November 13, 2020
DID YOUR CHILD RECEIVE HIS/HER CHROMEBOOK AND OTHER MATERIALS NEEDED FOR DISTANCE LEARNING?
Most in-person students were able to go home on Friday, November 20th with all the materials, including their Chromebooks, they need for the 18 days of Phase 1, Distance Learning (DL).
If your child was not at school during the final days before the Thanksgiving Recess and does not have a Chromebook and any other necessary materials at home, please contact our school office immediately to schedule a pick-up time.
Teachers will be taking attendance during the 18 days of DL. Please communicate with your child's teacher if your child will have to miss any live class sessions and/or if your child is having technology trouble.
PARENT PORTAL LOG-IN
All parents, including new parents, should have logged into the Parent Portal at some point this school year. Why do you need to create a parent account? This is a secure platform through which you will receive your child’s report card, complete enrollment, and complete the necessary beginning of the year school forms like your child's emergency card. In the future, this is also how state testing results will be communicated.
Please log-in to the Parent Portal BEFORE your scheduled parent/teacher conference to make sure you can do so smoothly. While you are in the parent portal, please check under the GENERAL tab for any forms you have not yet updated and complete those forms. We always need current emergency information for your child. In addition, some incomplete forms may be hindering your child from accessing resources such as library books. Thank you for your attention to form completion.
Click HERE for the link to the parent portal. If you cannot log-in successfully, please email our tech helpline at help@eesd.net. Be sure to keep your log-in information in a safe but accessible place.
WHAT SHOULD YOU DO IF YOUR CHILD IS A CLOSE CONTACT OR HAS SYMPTOMS AT THE BEGINNING OF JANUARY??
It is very important that we follow this procedure in order to reduce the possibility of exposure at school when we return in-person. If we have exposure at school, there is a very good chance a cohort (class or grade level) may need to quarantine and return to Distance Learning (DL) for a period of time.
There will be times when cohorts of students are unavoidable, and we understand. However, timely communication may help us minimize such occurrences.
Besides keeping your child home because he/she is a known close contact, please keep children home if they show symptoms in order to minimize exposure and illness to all colds, flu, potential COVID, etc. When our staff is ill, they are required to stay home. We could move to DL because of a shortage of staffing.
Thank you so much for your cooperation and understanding.
