A Message From Dr. Ricks
Parents and Friends,
What a wonderful Awards service we had Wednesday morning! It was so nice to see all of you here to help celebrate your children and their accomplishments. Despite the challenges of getting back in the habit of early mornings, everyone has seemed enthusiastic about returning to school. January is a really good month to settle in for good teaching and learning. This third quarter often marks the real high point of the year with the most substantive curricular work, so please continue to support your children and encourage them to work hard.
Next Friday marks our much anticipated Family Basketball Night, and I am looking forward to good food, music, and community as we enjoy the great atmosphere of sports and play. I hope that you can join us; be looking for more information on Tuesday.
I am continually impressed by the fantastic work displayed outside the classrooms. The Kindergarten classes have created life size snowglobes, the 3rd graders have generated timelines, and the 4th and 5th graders have displayed their New Year's Resolutions through alliteration. The 6th, 7th, and 8th graders are deep into research and preparation for upcoming Science and Social Studies fairs. The Spring Semester promises to be full of exciting events and opportunities. I love seeing your children eagerly take on these challenges in their journeys as lifelong learners.
A special note of thanks to those parents who participated in this morning's prayer group, and I encourage all who are interested to come next month and pray for our school, teachers, and students. How blessed we are...
Warmly,
Dr. Beth J. Ricks
