New Year, New 2:1 Device Initiative

Dear Anna Yates Families,

Over the next three weeks, the District is expanding our one-to-one student device initiative to a two-to-one initiative. Students in grades 2-5 will be issued a Chromebook to use at school and another Chromebook to use at home. For students, grades TK-1, we will keep you updated when your second devices have arrived.

It is important for your student to care for their devices, both at home and at school. When using their Chromebooks, please reinforce that they:

  • Keep it on a flat surface like a table or a desk.

  • Keep any items from piling up on top

  • Keep the keyboard clear of items when closing it

  • Keep food and drinks away; make sure your hands are clean.

  • Be careful when carrying it: make sure it is closed, always use two hands, and never carry it by the screen

  • Keep it charged; plug it in when you are not using it

  • Keep the Chromebook clean and free of stickers

  • Unplug headphones and chargers before moving

  • Tell the teacher or office right away if it breaks

  • Remember, this device is loaned to you and is the school’s property.

The Tech Department will be conducting technology check ins from time to time, at which time your child should bring assigned home devices to school to make sure it is working properly and has no damage.

Thank you for your support,

EUSD Technology Department and Mrs. Burke

COVID-19 Isolation Requirement Reminder

Covid is still circulating, and Alameda County's CDC level is currently "medium." As a reminder, students and staff who test positive for Covid must stay home for at least five days from symptom onset or date of positive test. Students wishing to return to school before a full ten days of isolation should re-test on day five with an at-home rapid antigen test; if the test is negative, the student may return to school on day six. Free tests are available in the school office! Please don't hesitate to be in touch with any questions.

Virtual Tutoring Support Available Gr 3-12

For students in grades 3-12, tutor.com can be a resource for real time homework support while at home. Students are able to directly access this resource through clever on their school device.
