A Note From Mrs. Dado

Welcome back to the start of what is sure to be a wonderful school year! I hope that you and your family have enjoyed the time off and are anticipating the new school year as much as we are.

It has been a busy summer for us here at Central. The building projects have been in full force throughout the summer months and construction and maintenance crews continue to work hard in order to get things in order for our first day back together. Teachers have begun unpacking and setting up their new classrooms in anticipation of meeting their new students and families. We are all so grateful to be back "home" this year.

I look forward to partnering with you in the coming year to devolop a relationship that will assist in the growth of your child/children. Should you ever have questions, concerns or are in need of further support, please do not hesitate to be in touch.

Again, welcome to the 2018-19 school year. We are so happy that you're here with us!

Mrs. Calli Dado

Playground Updates

If you've driven past Central you may have asked yourself, "What's happening with our playground!?" Have no fear, renovations should begin any day for our new space. New slides, climbers, swings, freshly laid sod soccer field, and more! While we won't be able to enjoy it at the start of the school year, students will have a gorgeous and exciting new playground once it's finished! And don't worry, we've got lots of ideas for still allowing our students time to get their energy and wiggles out.

Kidstop Child Care

Central will once again have the Boys and Girls Club Kidstop program for before and after school child care. Below is a note from the B&G Club:

“Hello parents! We hope you are enjoying your summer, and are looking forward to another great school-year. If you’re looking for fun, safe, affordable childcare right at your school, we want to make sure you are aware that Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County is running before and after-school childcare through its “Kidstop” program. This program has been in operation for over 28 years, and will help your child learn and grow while having fun. Registration is taking place at Valparaiso Boys & Girls Club, so feel free to stop by or call 462-2182 extension 229 for more information. You can download the registration form at BGCPOCO.ORG.

Also, if your child belongs to the Boys and Girls Club, you will be able to utilize a school bus in order to have them dropped off at the club after school.

Coffee on the Stoop

We're excited to bring you a new event with a focus on YOU, our wonderful Central parents! We're thrilled to be back "home" at Central this year and thought, what better way to enjoy being together again than a regular "Coffee on the Stoop" gathering with fellow parents.

Central, with the help of our wonderful PTA, will be periodically inviting parents to join us on the stoop to enjoy coffee and conversations with friends. Drop your kiddo off and stick around to mingle and get to know your Central family better.

Our first Coffee on the Stoop will be a "Boohoo, Yahoo" version on the first day of school. Whether you're crying over the end of summer, or celebrating school being back in session, stop by to visit with old and new friends!
