Genius Hour
This year many of our learners are wanting to learn more about different cultures. So far we have enjoyed learning about Texas, Japanese, Venezuelan and Finnish food!! If this is something you would be interested in participating in, please join us! This week, we enjoyed two of our 5th grade girls cooking up some Finnish pancakes. They were delightful!
Helping Hands
Make sure to check our school's website and calendar for volunteer opportunities and events. It is so nice to see our wonderful families helping out! We still needing help in the salad bar AND parent support in one of our Genius Hour groups: the soccer club. We are in search of a parent to supervise the soccer group as they work together to stay healthy, speak English, and teach each other the sport of Soccer. Please contact me if interested and I will help you get started! Thank you to our parents that are volunteering. It is so great to see you during the day participating in our learning community!
Walk to School Wednesdays
Our next walk to school Wednesday is Wednesday, January 20th. We have a growing ESL group meeting at the corner of S. Coppell Rd and Parkway between 7:20 and 7:30. All are welcome to join and participate!
Next Wednesday, January 13th, is College T-shirt day!
School Holiday, January 18th
Just a reminder we will not have school on Monday, January 18th in honor of Martin Luther King Day. Enjoy your long weekend!
Raz-Kids for Reading
All students should have a Raz-Kids account assigned to them. This is accessible from any computer at home, the public library, etc. This is an easy way for learners to continue working on reading and comprehension skills over the break. Please ask your child's teacher if you need their log in info.
Other resources for the break include:
