Pygmy Possums live in the alpine area on the highest mountains in Victoria and NSW. They are found in the Kosciuszko National Park.
Habitat And Ecology
The pygmy Possom lives in rocky areas and under boulders. The things that they eat are spiders, beetles, millipedes and caterpillars. It has 4 babies every spring.
Threats
The Pygmy Possum has many threats. The ski resort industry, feral cats, red foxes, global warming and people are mistaking them for house mice and killing them. To reduce this we must save some money to help them so that they don't die out.
Recovery Strategies
32 priority actions are being made so that the mountain Pygmy Possum doesn't die out. We need to control foxes and feral cats. Do not use traps or poison and support actions to reduce global warming.
