You can contract the virus by the infected bite of the Aedes mosquito.
The virus can also be spread through sexual contact if one person has it.
You can also get it through blood transfusion.
Effects of the Zika virus
Some of the symptoms of the virus are headache, skin rash, mild fever, and joint pain. Babies can also be born with an abnormally small head because of impaired brain development in the womb.
