Art Siege !
an art installation of 2000 paper cranes
Join our Art Siege!
We want to end the year with some peace and positivity, so we are collaborating to create a curtain of origami cranes and we need your help. We are going to need approximately 2000 cranes for this project. If you have students that would like to contribute, they can fold the cranes out of any type of paper that is cut into a 6" square - thinner paper works best (magazine paper, printer paper, notebook paper, etc.). You can even recycle your used worksheets! If every student would contribute by making one origami crane we'll be well on our way!
Scroll down for information about the Japanese tradition of folding 1000 paper cranes as well as the true story about Sadako Sasaki.
You will also find a you tube video with instructions as well as an instructional PDF that you can print or share.
