News From Nurse Baker

As many of you know, the CDC recently made changes to their isolation and quarantine guidelines. At this time, St. Stanislaus will only be honoring for COVID positive staff members that they can return on day 6 of symptom onset or positive test result IF they are asymptomatic or have drastically improving symptoms. When they are able to return they will be masked day 6-10 of their isolation period. Staff members may still choose to stay home the full 10 days if they are not feeling well or are more comfortable doing so. Students that are positive will need to stay home 10 days. We may reevaluate this in the future, but that is our decision at this time. That change is reflected in the Updated Reopening Guidelines in red font. No other changes have been made to the plan since 12/23/21.

Dental Preventive Services Program

We will be participating in the Dental Preventive Services Program again this year. The date is set for February 24th. Employees from the dental team at the Community Health Center of Central Missouri will again be performing the screenings. Permission slip forms will go out today and are due back by Wednesday, 1/12. This year, fluoride varnish will be applied by the Community Health Center employee at school if selected you would like for your child to receive a varnish treatment. Because more schools are participating in this program again, only students who are having the screening done will get a free toothbrush and other supplies sent home. The screening as well as the varnish application should take approximately 5 minutes per student. If you have any questions, please let me know.

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year!

Mark your calendars. The next parish/school community Virtus Training will be Wednesday, January 19, 6:30 to 8:00 pm in the school gym.
