The Right Way To Do It
Stop Slavery! By Kelsey O'Sullivan and Becca Kearns
Check if your manufacturer has slavery...
Uggs: Deckers owns Uggs and they check for manufacturers who don't treat people like slaves. A Deckers representative visits factories to conduct audits of the facilities. They have a score card, and the factory must have a score of 70 or above on the card to pass. A section of the audit focuses on “zero tolerance” issues including child and forced labor. Any violation of “zero tolerance” issues will cause the supplier to fail the audit and take immediate corrective action.
BullHead clothing: Bull Head: The company Bull Head is ran by PacSon which is located in Hawaii, but the company Bull Head is located in California. The workers from PacSon gave a review saying that the work condition is very clean but the weather is unpredictable. The workers also said that they get a great payment for where they work. The Bull Head store in California has good work conditions and the workers had the freedom to pick where they worked in the building. The upper management is an issue the workers said.
