Counselor's Corner
April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. As parents and caregivers, this is not always an easy topic to discuss but it is important to talk to your kids and to keep them safe. Protecting our children starts with a conversation. Establish safety rules and let your children know that you are here to help and to answer any questions they may have.
The following webpage provides parents with the tools needed to start the conversation:

We Need Your Help
With the increased number of students attending AES on a daily basis, our list of students who have not completed the AUXS app is getting longer. We have limited staff available to screen and call families and limited space to house our students who are not cleared. We appreciate your help in filling out the app each morning so your children can go directly to class. Some families have found success by setting an alarm on their phone as a reminder to complete the app.

Principal's Reading Recommendation
"A Bad Case of Stripes" by David Shannon is one of my favorite books because I love the crazy and colorful illustrations. It also has a great message about embracing the things that make us unique. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W9f2UAR-yLc
