Principals' Post
Our Panthers had an AMAZING and BUSY week of school! From learning to community building, our Panthers filled their first full week with lots of FUN!
This coming week, our students will begin taking our iReady assessment. This assessment replaces MAP, which your child has taken in previous years. Students will take this assessment three times per year. Be on the lookout for an email from our Curriculum Department with more information about the iReady assessment.
We recognize the need for appointments and understand that situations may arise that require you to pick your child up early from school. We ask that you please try your best to schedule appointments OUTSIDE of the school day and not pick your child up early from school, as to not disrupt the learning process. If you are planning to pick your child up early, please communicate ahead of time with your child's teacher so they can have them ready to be dismissed upon your arrival.
As a reminder, our students will only have a HALF DAY OF SCHOOL this coming Friday - August 30, 2019. Students will be dismissed at 11:30 AM for you to enjoy the LONG Labor Day weekend!
Your partners in education,
Mrs. Kristin Reingruber, Principal
Dr. Carla Braun, Assistant Principal

Glen Oaks Drop Off and Pickup Procedures
Please refer to this link for a map of the pick-up and drop-off procedures and share this information with ANYONE who will be dropping off or picking up your child during the school year.
Pick-up is on the north side of 91st Street - PLEASE NOTE, the NORTH SIDE of 91ST STREET functions as a TRAFFIC LINE - please do NOT exit your car! You must stay in your car and pull forward when possible - this helps us keep traffic moving efficiently and safely.
If you DO choose to exit your car and wait for your child, please park in the surrounding neighborhood and walk over to the school. Please avoid parking on the north side of 91st Street.
Students will wait on the sidewalk between the crosswalk at the east end of the school property and 87th Avenue.
Only children with a walker permit will be allowed to walk out of the designated waiting area
Walker permits will be sent home with your child on the first day of school. They can also be requested from the Glen Oaks office. A parent signature is REQUIRED!
As always, we ask that you be respectful of our surrounding school community and the staff members that are assisting with arrival and dismissal duty. We work hard to ensure everyone’s safety, whether they are part of the Glen Oaks community, a pedestrian or a passing motorist. Safety is our number one goal and we appreciate your attention to these procedures.
