Better Care Reconciliation Act
Family Network on Disabilities, Florida Resource Center
Concerns we have in Florida
- This bill hurts Florida Seniors and persons/children with disabilities. 11 million people with disabilities rely on Medicaid for critical services that help them live and participate in their community.
- The Senate’s bill, the Better Care Reconciliation Act (BCRA) would decimate Medicaid. It proposes to cut $772 billion over the next decade and would reduce federal Medicaid spending by 35% by 2036.
- People with disabilities in Florida will be disproportionally harmed. They makeup about 14% of Medicaid participants but account for 40% the cost.
- Per Capita Caps Hurt Floridians. Caps don’t give states more flexibility. They just give states less money.
- The caps being proposed in the BCRA have nothing to do with the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Take caps off the table and let’s have a conversation about how to improve the ACA for Floridians.
Please VOTE NO.
Vote no to the BCRA or any bill that caps or cuts Medicaid, cuts healthcare for people with disabilities, and does not protect people with pre-existing conditions.
