Positive Student Recognition

November Terrific Tigers

Big picture
Announcing our November Terrific Tigers representing RESPECT! Jillian & Fox (grade 6), Abby & Jason (grade 5), Georgia & Giovanni (grade 4), Lazarus & Thomas (grade 3), Bailey & Nicholas (grade 2), Elliuna & Sebastian (grade 1) and Avery & Liam (kindergarten). When you see them, please congratulate them on being such positive influences in our school family!

December PAWS-itive Character Trait is CARING!

Caring is displaying kindness and concern for others.

2019-2020 PBiS Goal

Our overall goal is to have 85% or more of our kids receive one or fewer minor/major behavior referrals this school year. As of December 6, 2019 437 out of out 464 students have received one or fewer behavior referrals for discipline. That means that 94% of our students at Maplewood Elementary were consistently doing the right thing! Our students are making great choices and learning quickly to avoid repeating bad ones.

Tiger Ticket Weekly Tallying

WOW! Our bucket is full of Tiger Tickets around here!

Here is how Quarter 2 is shaping up:

Speaking of all the great behavior we have been seeing at MES, 230 students have been recognized so far with a PAWS-itive PICK! A student who is going above and beyond the ROAR expectations gets nominated for a PAWS-itive PICK by an MES staff member!

What does a positive office referral look like at MES?

*Sign the VIP wall

*Call home

*Selfie with Mrs. Fonzo

*Ring the bell

*Loud cheering and high fives

*Names read weekly over intercom

Keep up the great work, MES!

Who is Implemeting PBiS?

Everyone… faculty and staff. We encourage everyone to recognize positive and appropriate behaviors. We encourage everyone to recognize the students in your classroom, hallways, restrooms, cafeteria, playground and during arrival/dismissal. This is our opportunity to catch students doing something right!

Students in Mrs. Kral's 1st grade class are enjoying their books by flashlight and a "roaring fire" to get in the reading spirit today! Doesn't that look so cozy?
