A Word from the Principal

We hope your children enjoyed their fall lessons, pumpkin-themed activities, and classroom celebrations last month. Seeing our students enjoy their Halloween costumes and fall attire is one of the highlights of the year for us. Thank you for allowing us to be part of these special occasions! This month we are focusing on gratitude and connecting with our community. As part of this focus we are busily preparing for our Holiday Giving campaign. This year, we are donating money from our pumpkin pie sale and also canned food items from our food drive to Delaware People in Need. Please reach out if you have any questions!

Seasonal Clothes

Changes in the temperature mean changes in your child's wardrobe. Please double-check your child's cubby clothes to ensure they are appropriate for the weather, and please make sure you are bringing a jacket for chillier days. We will take the children outside in temperatures as low as 32 degrees!

Illness Policy Reminder

Our parents are vital partners in helping us to maintain a safe and healthy environment for the students in our school. The most important thing you can do to assist us in creating a healthy environment is to keep your child home if they are ill. This reduces the spread of illness and allows your child to fully recuperate. Children may not attend school until they have been symptom free for 24 hours if they display any of the following:

  • Fever of 100 degrees of more—must be fever free for 24 hours with no fever-reducing medicine before returning to school
  • Vomiting, diarrhea, or stomach upset
  • Heavy nasal discharge requiring wiping every 3-5 minutes
  • Persistent, non-productive or barking cough
  • Sore throat
  • Skin rash
  • Head lice
  • Symptoms of a communicable disease such as pink eye, measles, chicken pox, mumps, or strep throat
  • Fussy, cranky behavior unlike child’s normal demeanor that may indicate illness

For more information please see our Family Handbook or reach out to a member of our administrative team.

Pumpkins and Halloween and Trick-or-Treating, Oh My!

The temperatures are dropping and we have been loving the changes outside! Many of our classes have explored pumpkins with our five senses, and we also took our preschool classes on a field trip to Lehner's Pumpkin Farm! We hosted a Trunk-or-Treat event and got the chance to dress up in our Halloween costumes for our annual Halloween party. It's been a great fall so far!
