Dear MTA Parents,
Our Read-a-Thon is off to a great start, and already over 300 of you have signed up, and over 150 of those have already recorded reading minutes. Way to go, Owls! If you continue to participate, some great prizes are waiting for you, so make sure you are reading and asking friends and family for donations. This Saturday, the Guild is hosting Family Fun Day! 2023 Read-A-Thon!
The time is now! We have officially kicked off our Read-a-Thon fundraising event and we need your help! If you have not already done so, please click on this link to activate your reader’s personal page.
Sign up BEFORE Friday, 2/24 to earn your student an Untuck Day this Friday, 2/24. (*Student MUST have a personal read-a-thon page to be eligible.) Activation takes less than a minute and everything you need to start your student reading and fundraising is right there. Help us meet our fundraising goal and sign up today!
Parent Rep Update
All student athletes who are planning to try out for Spring Sports must have an AIA physical form on file with the Athletic Director (Parents/Students stop by room 208 before or after school to verify). Students without a physical will NOT be eligible to try out for Spring sports. Student Athletes who make a team will not receive their jersey or be eligible to play in games until the $100 athletic fee is paid (Parents email me if you need assistance).
- JV/Varsity Softball Tryouts: 2/21 & 2/23 3-4:30pm (MTA Fields) - Use this link if you are planning to tryout for Softball
- JV/Varsity Baseball Tryouts: 2/21 & 2/22 3:30-5:00pm (Rose Lane Fields)- Use link if you are planning to tryout for Baseball
- Track & Field: MTA students who are interested in joining the Meadows Track & Field team must do the two things below or they will NOT be allowed to join the team. The first practice is on 2/21 from 4-5pm on the Meadows Northwest Recess Field. Use this link if you are planning to tryout. Students may NOT join the team after 2/24. You must submit an AIA physical form to Mr. Coon prior to 2/21.
Yearbooks & Happy Hoots
It's time to order Yearbooks for the 2022-2023 school year! They are only $22! All sales will be online this year to pre-order your memories. Do you want to send a special message in the yearbook for your student? It's only $5 extra per Happy Hoot.

(Ongoing) Sneaker Fundraiser!
- Drop off your new or used athletic shoes in the donation bin in the front office for the rest of the school year.
- Shoes can be in ANY condition!
- Must be athletic shoes (no boots, flip flops, etc.)

FIELD DAY 2023- Led by Mr. Holcomb - Signup to volunteer by clicking here!
- W. 3/1- Kindergarten- 1st Grade 8:20-10:20 - 18 Parent Volunteers Needed
- Th. 3/2- 2nd & 3rd Grade 8:20 - 10:20- 15 Parent Volunteers Needed)
- F. 3/3- 4th and 5th Grade 8:20 - 10:20- 15 Parent Volunteers Needed)
- M. 3/6- 6th and 7th Grade 8:20 - 10:20- 15 Parent Volunteers Needed)
- Th. 3/9- 8th Grade Only 8:20 - 10:20- 13 Parent Volunteers Needed)
- Field Days will be held in the morning and run from 8:20am-10:20am on the above dates.
- Students will rotate through game/activity stations on the field and basketball courts & in the gym.
- Students must bring a water bottle and are highly encouraged to wear sunscreen.
- Mr. Holcomb is looking for parent Volunteers to help run the different stations/events each of the 5 dates. (Please see the above for the number of volunteers needed per day).
- Parent volunteers can signup using the link that will be shared out via Facebook and next week's newsletter.
- Daily, parent volunteers should arrive by 7:55am and follow sign-in procedures at the front office. A meeting in the Gym will immediately follow at 8:00am for information about how to run each of the Field Day Events/Stations.
- Once all students finish rotating through the different Field Day events/stations, volunteers will need to help bring in the equipment to either the Outdoor Storage Room or Gym. The equipment can be placed anywhere in these 2 locations and I really appreciate volunteers helping with breaking down the events.
- As a reminder, all parents who volunteer to work Field Days must be prescreened in 'Raptor'. Use this link to CREATE A RAPTOR ACCOUNT FOR DISTRICT OFFICE APPROVAL TO VOLUNTEER
- In addition, any parents who need assistance with creating a Raptor Account are asked to contact Heather Cook, who is the Attendance Clerk at MTA by email: hcook@madisoned.org or by Phone (602) 745-4000. All Volunteers are being asked to arrive by 7:55 and stay till about 10:30.

Establishing and maintaining a working relationship between the parents, school and teachers.
