Week of November 18th
Experiences - Coherence - Relationships
2019-2020 Focus:
Positive School Culture & Data Driven Instruction
Updates
I hope everyone had a relaxing weekend. Here are a couple of updates and reminders:
Today is weekly data meeting. The goal is for teachers to eventually run this process. An admin or specialist will most likely be in your meeting up to break, but after break we would like teachers to step up and run the data meetings. Please bring paper copies of the assessment, the exemplar, a couple of high, medium and low work and this week's lesson plan so that you can add the reteach to it.
Tuesday - is Red for Ed, certified staff do not report to work.
Wednesday - Early start, meet in the LGI room. More details are to come.
December 2nd - NWEA window opens.
Challenge yourself today to react differently towards a difficult student that is getting under your skin. Stay calm, give a direction and continue doing what you were doing. Take deep breaths when needed.
Have a fabulous week!!!
Jason
Shout Out!
Literacy
Team, after Winter Break we will be adding a literacy component to our week. On Monday's during core connect students will read high interest books. On Fridays, we will be writing using the R.A.C.E strategy to answer writing prompts. For those who are unfamiliar, the RACE format prepares students to answer short and extended response prompts. It asks students to Restate, Answer, Cite evidence, and Explain their answer. There will be a couple of work shops on the RACE strategy before we begin.
