7th Grade Science
7th grade Science students spent time in the library with Ms. Lawson learning about research techniques and using a presentation model called Smore. Each student was assigned an organ system and a specific organ to research and to explore the functions and how it interacts with the rest of the body. 7th grade parents received an email from their child that included a link to the research project they completed.

6th Grade Music Decades Project
Sixth grade Music students researched 8 categories: current events, politics, music styles, inventions, fashion, sports events, movies, and slang terms of their selected decade.
Student presentations were given in the form of a TV news show, with the students performing as nightly news anchors and reporters. Students researched, wrote scripts and acted the parts dressed in the fashion of the decade.
6th Grade Inspiration Dinner Project
Sixth grade ELA students researched one person who inspired them to change their view of themselves or the world. Students researched important facts to include in their report and presentation.
Winter Book Club
Dawna Ofstehage,Teen Services Librarian, at the Leawood Pioneer Branch of Johnson County Library, along with Ms. Lawson, held Winter Book Club in the 6th grade pod on December 9th during lunch to talk about good books and fun library programs.
Hooked On Books
Elementia
Elementia is a literary arts magazine published by the Johnson County Library to represent and uplift young adults. Original poetry, fiction, nonfiction, graphic stories, photography and illustrations have been submitted by LMS 7th grade ELA & Art students for the13th issue.This year's theme is how our passions define us. Individual submissions will be accepted until February 1st.
