October is Anti-Bullying Month
October may be Anti Bullying Month, but our focus on Anti-Bullying education continues all year. At the PTO meeting on October 14, Mrs. Combs and Mrs. Ament will be talking about steps we take to prevent and address harassment, intimidation and bullying at BAE.
A copy of the Harassment, Intimidation and Bullying presentation for parents is HERE.
Remember, we all do our best work when we work together....Communication between home and school is the best way to ensure that every child feels safe and respected, and that every child has the support that they need to be their best selves.
PBIS Silver Award Winners!
Blue Ash Elementary School has been recognized for its success with Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS). PBIS involves teaching students expected behaviors in a consistent and positive way, modeling and acknowledging those behaviors and helping all students meet expectations and be successful. PBIS has been shown to improve student achievement, student behavior and school climate. In 2015, Ohio PBIS Network first recognized schools that were model examples of strong PBIS. In 2020 Blue Ash Elementary applied and earned the Bronze level. This year we applied and earned the Silver level, and are one of 354 award-winning schools to be recognized at any of the levels Gold (34), Silver (70), or Bronze (233). Our school, along with Symmes Elementary, will be honored at the 2021 Ohio PBIS Showcase in conjunction with the Ohio Leadership Advisory Council (OLAC) virtual conference on December 9, 2021.
We are thankful to our district leadership and our staff, students, and families for their support and encouragement as we continue to focus on building and sustaining a strong community at Blue Ash Elementary. We are Safe, Respectful, Responsible, Problem Solvers!

Night Owls
Looking for Night Owl volunteers to support our teachers! The Night Owls are a group of parents that give back by doing projects once a month at night to make our teachers lives a little easier. Examples include cutting out laminated cards, sorting handouts, and alphabetizing. Night Owls will start out virtually this year. Rather than having a meeting, projects will be picked up from the office once a month. The projects can be returned with your child or to the office the next day. If you are interested in joining the Night Owls, please send an email to a Brittany Coffey at bcoffey0912@gmail.com. The first “meeting” will be the week of October 11th.
