SandiCoast Cafe
SandiCoast Cafe (aka Food and Nutrition Services) is getting a refresh and we need your help!
SandiCoast Cafe was created in large part by students from San Diego Unified almost 13 years ago. A logo with a surf/beach theme was created and has been used since to represent Food Services.
Guidelines for New Logo
- The SandiCoast Cafe name will remain the same (it was created by students for students).
- The logo needs to be representative of the diversity of the district's students.
- Colors need to be aligned with the San Diego Unified District’s logo.
Please help them choose their next logo! The deadline to complete the survey is Friday, April 12th. Here is the link to the survey HERE
Thank you,
Bell Food Services and Admin

Usual Reminders: Students should bring Chromebooks to school daily: All classes have work to do daily in their classes, online, and students should bring their Chromebook to school daily, fully charged. Students should also bring their charger to school. All Spring testing will be done with your student using her or his Chromebook.
Practice testing towards the end of March: If their is an issue with your students Chromebook, email klacey-jackson@sandi.net and let her know the situation, so she can trouble shoot and accommodate, sooner than later.
Headphones/Earbuds: Students: If you have ear buds or headphones, bring them to school daily, to be worn in class only, for school work related reasons only. Earbuds and Headphones will also be used during Spring Testing. During Spring Testing, if your student does not their own headphones or earbuds, loaner headphones will be provided.
Testing Policy: Students must have cell phone turned phone off and put in their backpack while testing.
Independent Contracts
We believe school is important and students should be at school every day. We also know that life happens, and in certain situations an Independent Contract may apply for your student.
Independent contracts are case by case only. If a student is absent for 5 days or less, independent contracts do not apply. Independent contracts are for those rare situations which are usually out of our control. Some reasons for an independent contract may include a death in the family, a significant health or medical related issue, being displace due to an incident, and/or other emergencies as determined my admin. Families must request independent contracts "minimum" one week in advance so your student's teachers can prepare your student’s work while out on contract. Independent contracts are only valid if your student completes his/her work. Students are not eligible for a second contract if they don’t complete their work, given in their contract. If your student has an IEP, they will not receive services while on independent contract. If you feel your student qualifies for an independent contract, or have questions regarding independent contracts, please reach out to aaguayo@sandi.net for more information and/or next steps.
