No School - March 9

This is a reminder that there is no school next week Monday, March 9.

Positivity Project - Social Intelligence!

This week our students will focus on learning about Social Intelligence.

Social Intelligence refers to a person’s ability to understand and manage interpersonal relationships. It is distinct from a person’s IQ or “book smarts.” It includes an individual’s ability to understand, and act on, the feelings, thoughts, and behaviors of other people. This type of intelligence can take place “in the moment” of face-to-face conversations

but also appears during times of deliberate thinking. It involves emotional intelligence and self-awareness.

The Parent virtue for Social Intelligence is Humanity. Strengths of humanity involve caring interpersonal relationships with others, particularly in one-to-one relationships. Strengths comprised in this virtue are love, kindness, and social intelligence.

Mr. Simons and Ms. Oas will be working with each grade level this week to explore the notion of "Paying it Forward" with an act of kindness.

Use the quotes and videos below to host discussion with your child.

Coffee with the Principal

We will host Coffee with the Principal on March 10 from 9-9:30 a.m in the Media Center. We will use the session as an open forum session. Parents will be able to ask questions and we will provide answers or resources.

Coffee with the Principal is an opportunity for parents to gather, ask questions, and learn about various components within the school. The informal meeting is held on the second Tuesday of each month.

5th Grade Parents!

Mrs. Rhodes, along with the 5th grade team, will be hosting 2 very important information sessions on Thursday, March 12 in the Media Center. At 5:30, we will discuss the upcoming Human Growth and Development unit and at 6:15, we will learn about the middle school registration process, math placement options, and elective selections. Please join us as we help answer any questions you might have.
