Positivity Project - Social Intelligence!
This week our students will focus on learning about Social Intelligence.
Social Intelligence refers to a person’s ability to understand and manage interpersonal relationships. It is distinct from a person’s IQ or “book smarts.” It includes an individual’s ability to understand, and act on, the feelings, thoughts, and behaviors of other people. This type of intelligence can take place “in the moment” of face-to-face conversations
but also appears during times of deliberate thinking. It involves emotional intelligence and self-awareness.
The Parent virtue for Social Intelligence is Humanity. Strengths of humanity involve caring interpersonal relationships with others, particularly in one-to-one relationships. Strengths comprised in this virtue are love, kindness, and social intelligence.
Mr. Simons and Ms. Oas will be working with each grade level this week to explore the notion of "Paying it Forward" with an act of kindness.
Use the quotes and videos below to host discussion with your child.
"Manners are a sensitive awareness of the feelings of others." ~Emily Post
"People may hear your words but they feel your attitude." ~John C. Maxwell

Coffee with the Principal
We will host Coffee with the Principal on March 10 from 9-9:30 a.m in the Media Center. We will use the session as an open forum session. Parents will be able to ask questions and we will provide answers or resources.
Coffee with the Principal is an opportunity for parents to gather, ask questions, and learn about various components within the school. The informal meeting is held on the second Tuesday of each month.
