Kirk Fenton News
1st October 2021
Dear Parents and Carers,
First of all an update on our covid situation. This week has seen us reintroduce online assemblies as well as the adults in school returning to wear masks in communal areas and we have been advised to continue this into next week again. We are still seeing a few new cases but thankfully the rate has slowed considerably for now. Please continue to be vigilant for any signs of illness in your child and if in doubt, please have them tested using a PCR test rather than a lateral flow test. Thank you for your support with this.
In other news, we were lucky to have a sports coach in school this week working with two year groups. Jaguars enjoyed a noisy session of tag rugby in the hall and Tigers worked hard on their tri-golf skills. It was great to see the children working so well together.
We are very lucky this year to be welcoming two student teachers to school starting just before half term. Mrs Sheppard is completing a PGCE and will be working alongside Mrs Harrison in Earthworms and Miss Wilson is a final year student who will be finishing her teaching practices in Tigers alongside Mrs Fitzpatrick and Mrs Bembridge. I am sure you will all make them both very welcome.
Finally, we have been very excited to have had a piece of the moon and several meteorites in school this week for the children to touch and learn about. The visit was arranged with NASA by Mrs Fitzpatrick and Mrs Cameron and has been two years in the planning. We will be putting some pictures onto twitter, but what an opportunity! It would be lovely if you could spend some time this weekend looking at the moon with your child and hearing about what they have learnt.
Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Karen Williams
