"Quote of the Week"
President's Message
Educators,
To persevere means to ‘hold firmly and steadily to some purpose, state, or undertaking despite obstacles or setbacks. It implies continuing resolutely in the face of adversity, being tenacious, not giving up. We know the assessment that our students will take this week does not define who they are or what they may become. In out last meeting, members shared their passion for education and how they hope to contribute to the lives of our children. This week our students take an assessment that does not define who they are but, if not taken seriously, can create obstacles. Often when academics seems difficult, in lieu of failing our children may take the easier route and give up. Remind students to resist the urge to give up and to take a deep breath and rely on the knowledge that they gained from teachers. Make sure our students see the same passion that you shared with the members. When you encounter students that are nervous about the assessment, be positive, smile and let them know that we believe in them.
