Dear Parents / Carers,

I am sure that this week will have been one of mixed emotions in many households. Some will have been excited, whilst others were a little apprehensive about this latest return. However, the children have been feeling, you can be reassured that they have all settled back in very well with their teachers ready to support their needs and routines to ease them back into school life as we currently know it. It has been lovely to hear the laughter coming from the classes and playgrounds and to see the children learning all together again. All children will have had the chance throughout the week to talk about their feelings, worries and anxieties in a safe and calm environment but if you are concerned about your child's mental health, please do contact us through the school office.

Please be reminded of the expectation that children wear correct school uniform of white polo shirt, grey trousers, skirt or pinafore and our red school jumper. One shoe shops reopen, they should have flat black shoes or trainers (no heels). PE kits consisting of red shorts, black leggings/ joggers, white PE T-shirt and a red or black sweatshirt can be worn on the child's PE day. If you are unsure of correct uniform please see the school website or contact the school office. Thank you

We have had several complaints regarding inconsiderate parking this week, especially in the mornings and I have asked the police to make regular visits at this time. Please be aware of parking safely and not blocking residents driveways or access roads. You can report poor parking directly to the police on 101 stating the car number plate and where they have parked. Please help us to keep our children safe and our neighbours happy!

Finally, just a few Covid reminders:

  • I know it is tempting but please do not walk and talk or stand and chat with other parents as you drop off or collect. One adult per family should come on site to drop/ collect all their children and leave as soon as possible.
  • Please keep your children with you. They must not run on ahead or run around the car park for their own safety and the safety of others.
  • Please be aware of several pinch points around our school site, such as the gates into the playgrounds, and ensure you leave space for people to come through. Remember - social distancing is still in place and you should have at least 2 metres between you and the next person at all times.

Thank you for your help with this and have a lovely weekend,

Mrs Karen Williams

TT Rock Stars of the Week

Children find new maths learning significantly easier to understand if they are fluent on the key number facts, so it is fantastic to see how hard some of our children are working on their times tables at home. Well done to Eloise Jones from Jupiter and Niamh Meehan from Saturn for practising so much this week.

British Science Week

Worm charming, kite flying, bubble blowing, tea bag testing, soil researching, rocket racing and dinosaur footprint measuring. We have warmly welcomed back all of our children with a week full of fantastic, hands-on science activities in celebration of British Science Week. The school has once again felt the “buzz” of full classes engaged in their learning with plenty of time for children to finally work and play with their friends.
